The Invitation

Once, there was water drawn in pretense,
A setting of beauty, yet hearts were tense.
I filled the room, but not with peace —
Only the ache of what love was *meant* to be.

I lit the flame but dimmed your soul,
And made you feel less, when you were whole.
I looked too much, and saw too little —
Turning presence into a hollow riddle.

But tonight, there is no gaze, no game —
Only the Word, to lift His name.
No spectacle here, no need to perform —
Just warmth, and truth, and water made warm.

So come if you're led, this Saturday, at half past nine,
Where repentance meets rest, and mercy is kind.
The door will be open, the posture is low —
And Christ will be honored in all that I show.

The Clue

What looked like warmth was often cold,
A guarded hand I tried to hold.
Smiles hid the storms inside,
Where fear and pressure used to hide.
Inside me, two minds at war beneath one skin,
Truth was twisted deep within.
To find what's next, recall the one,
who said the "double-minded" come undone.
The letter he wrote, not far from the start
Reveals the next pages of my heart.
